According to Brig-Gen Lu Mon, Deputy Minister for Transport and Communications, the government is working to build a cyber security law and policy in order to ensure cyber security in Myanmar, respond to and defend cyberbullying, and improve cyber security awareness.

On January 28, he said these statements at the 2nd Asean Digital Ministers' Meeting (2nd ADGMIN), which was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communications in Nay Pyi Taw under the topic "Digital Transformation: The Engine for Asean Economic Recovery from Covid-19."

He stated that Asean has established a cyber security cooperation plan for the years 2021-2025. We must seek to have a well-founded law in Myanmar in order to implement that policy. We are currently drafting a cyber security policy. Just then will we be able to collaborate not only inside our own country but also with other countries in the region. According to him, a new typical trend has emerged in world nations as a result of Covid-19's limitations, which has transferred to online enterprises. In this summit, we agreed to put the Asean cyber security cooperation strategy 2021 into action. We've also established an Asean cyber emergency response team to address the issues rapidly.

Myanmar has developed the Myanmar Computer Emergency Response Team (MMCERT) and is participating in training and cyber-attack prevention programs with neighboring countries, he noted.

The meeting's first day session focused on approval for progress in implementing ICT sector projects in 2021, discussions and approval to implement the projects of the ASEAN Digital Senior Officials' Meeting-ADGSOM and the ASEAN Telecommunication Regulators' Council Meeting-ATRC, discussions and approval to implement the projects of the ASEAN Digital Senior Officials' Meeting-ADGSOM and the ASEAN Telecommunication Regulators' Council Meeting-ATRC, discussions and approval to implement the tasks done and to be done with dialogue partner countries
