According to an announcement from the airlines, Myanmar Airways International (MAI) and Air KBZ would conduct daily flights between Yangon and Sittwe and Yangon and Thandwe.

On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the airlines will fly from Yangon to Kyaukphyu. According to a news release from the Central Committee on COVID-19 Prevention, Control, and Treatment, all temporary visa restrictions on visitors travelling to Myanmar from across the world have been extended until December 31, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has imposed temporary restrictions on the number of tourists visiting Myanmar, which have all been extended until December 31 in order to implement more efficient COVID-19 pandemic prevention efforts.

Foreigners (including diplomats and UN workers) should visit the nearest Myanmar embassy or consulate abroad to be exempted from visa requirements if they are arriving in Myanmar by rescue or special aircraft, whether for official business or due to unforeseen circumstances.

International passenger planes will not be allowed to land at Yangon International Airport until December 31, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, in order to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Myanmar via air travel.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, and Population, more than 1.7 million international visitors visited Myanmar on e-Visa between 2016 and August 2020, producing US$ 69.2 million.
